Job Summary: The Street Outreach Coordinator is responsible for coordinating NEOCH’s street outreach services in collaboration with our street outreach team and the NEOCH Street Outreach Collaborative - consisting of over a dozen local organizations and volunteer groups building relationships and coordinating services for unsheltered people throughout Cleveland. The Street Outreach Coordinator will manage our by name list of people experiencing unsheltered homelessness to monitor where people are sleeping, and to track what services and referrals are being coordinated to end their experience of homelessness. The Street Outreach Coordinator will streamline communication between NEOCH’s street outreach team, other homeless service providers, and volunteer street outreach groups in our Street Outreach Collaborative to coordinate street services, case conference for individuals on the by name list, and to share information on available services and programs in the community.

Beyond working directly with our street outreach staff and Street Outreach Collaborative partners, the Street Outreach Coordinator will field street outreach calls in the NEOCH office to help clients navigate services in the community and to document advocacy needs in cases where clients receive substandard service delivery throughout the homelessness continuum or in situations where they experience harassment or harm in the shelter system or publicly.

This position requires significant data management and administrative skills as well as experience with client relationship management and the ability to troubleshoot problems and coordinate services for people experiencing homelessness in a creative and timely fashion. This position also requires team and volunteer management experience. The Street Outreach Coordinator will collaborate and meet frequently with NEOCH’s team of street outreach workers and will report to our Street Outreach Director.

Task Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Coordination of street outreach services for unsheltered people in our community in collaboration with NEOCH’s street outreach team:

  • Field incoming calls from the community and dispatch street outreach workers to people experiencing homelessness in our community

  • Problem-solve barriers for clients to quickly access service in the community, particularly around housing needs and victim services

  • Enter data and prepare accurate reports to provide program-level data on our street outreach work, and manage data across multiple interfaces, including web-based software, Microsoft Excel, and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)

  • Display a trauma-informed and caring attitude to unsheltered clients, volunteers, and NEOCH visitors at all times

Coordination of case management and collaboration between volunteer groups and direct service providers in our Street Outreach Collaborative:

  • Manage and monitor NEOCH’s by name list to track and document all identified unsheltered people working with NEOCH and our Street Outreach Collaborative

  • Organize and facilitate monthly street outreach worker meetings with NEOCH street outreach staff and Street Outreach Collaborative partners to case conference and coordinate services for unsheltered people on our by name list

  • Track cases of victimization, attacks, hate crimes, and substandard service delivery in the community that further traumatize people experiencing unsheltered homelessness, and connect to NEOCH’s advocacy and organizing when appropriate

  • Provide positive leadership and promote a trauma-informed culture for all street outreach workers, volunteers, and direct service staff in the community

  • Invite organizations to present and share information about available programs and services in the community to share with the Street Outreach Collaborative and NEOCH street outreach staff

  • Update and manage data for NEOCH’s informational resource guide, the Cuyahoga County Street Card. Coordinate with service providers and NEOCH staff to manage distribution of the printed guide

  • Support the creation of a volunteer-based street outreach program in the community in collaboration with the Street Outreach Director

Qualifications:

  • Deep experience with Microsoft Excel, data management, and other Suite programs

  • At least 3 years of work experience with data management, social work, case management, and coordination of services

  • Self-starter, initiating activities within the framework provided and further developing them with minimal supervision

  • Proven experience working with the public and developing and maintaining excellent relationships to support NEOCH’s goals and mission

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced, changing environment

  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills with extreme attention to detail

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Valid Driver’s License. Mileage reimbursement available if own transportation provided

  • Passion for issues relating to homelessness and serving low-income people

  • Trained in trauma-informed care and harm reduction models

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Compensation: Salary $35,000 (exempt)
