Help Line Statistics
July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016
Every year thousands of school children struggle with homelessness. They may be a member of a family struggling to find housing, or a single youth out on their own. Project Act has recorded the statistics of homeless youth by age, gender, grade, race and status, in order to help show the profiles of these children who are experiencing homelessness at a young age. Above are the history of Help Line Statistics for the past 20 years. The reason for the dramatic decrease in 2016 was that the district changed the way they counted the population. Previously, every incident of homelessness was counted separately. Beginning in 2015, the family was only counted once during the school year even if they had multiple episodes of homelessness.
