Our organization strongly supports local efforts to reduce poverty in Cuyahoga County by supporting the Anti-Poverty Human Rights platform. We will work for full implementation of the platform locally and throughout the state. We have seen increasing prosperity while families with the lowest income have not enjoyed this prosperity. The changes in the state welfare program have harmed some of the families in Cuyahoga County. With the upcoming enforcement of time limits, which will result in the loss of all assistance, the health and welfare of our community is in jeopardy. We urge community leaders to adopt all of the policies outlined in the Anti-Poverty Human Rights Platform in order to put in place a strategy to reduce poverty in Cuyahoga County.
