The Homeless Stand Down 2005

The Homeless Stand Down 2005 was held on February 11 and February 12, 2005 at the Bishop Cosgrove Center on East 18^th at Superior Ave.  February 11, 2005 was a health and service fair with agencies and government organizations that offered to help homeless people.  On February 12, the Stand Down focused on the distribution of winter clothing and a few other personal hygiene items.  Both days featured food and Saturday had the added attraction of  entertainment.  The 2005 Stand Down was co-sponsored by the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless, the City of Cleveland Department of Public Health, InterAct Cleveland, the Bishop Cosgrove Center, and Care Alliance.  A few facts about the 2005 Stand Down.

v     1,423 People in attendance. v     Around 25% attended multiple sessions. v     25% were female. v     845 people were screened by a medical or wellness case worker. v     474 people were seen by social service providers. v     Thousands of winter clothing was given away.
