AmeriCorps*VISTA Positions at

the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless

 

 

College Students!

AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteers In Service to America) is looking to bring two members on to create programs that address homelessness and poverty in Northeast Ohio. We are working on Civil Rights, starting a statewide organization, and assisting people with re-entering after a period of incarceration.

 

You’ll earn a living allowance, and at the end of your service, you’ll receive an educational award or stipend to pay for school or pay off student loans. November 2005-November 2006.

Volunteers In Service to America (VISTA), is a full-time AmeriCorps program for men and women 18 years of age and older from all backgrounds, who commit themselves to increasing the capability of low-income people to improve the conditions of their lives.

 

Requirements: To join AmeriCorps*VISTA, you must be at least 18 years old.  At NEOCH we require a college a degree.  There is no upper age limit, and many AmeriCorps*VISTA members bring vast life experience to their positions.  VISTAs should have good interpersonal skills, enjoy working with diverse groups of people and understanding that achieving measurable results takes time.  

It is important to note that before you begin your AmeriCorps*VISTA term you must attend a PSO (Pre-Service Orientation) the dates of this training will available to you by contacting NEOCH at 216.432.0540.
